Library Media Specialist
Get to Know Mrs. Essary!
I am a wife and mom of four busy kids and this is my tenth year in education! I started in 2008 at Northwoods Elementary in Jacksonville, NC with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida. I taught 3rd grade and Kindergarten during the regular school years and 2nd grade through the summer school program. I received my Masters degree in Reading and Literacy in 2010 and in 2013, I moved into a focused reading position for Kindergarten.
I took several years to stay at home with my children. In 2018, I went back into the classroom as a part time reading tutor at our wonderful Jamestown Elementary when my oldest entered Kindergarten.
I started teaching full time again in 2020 and moved into the media specialist position in 2024!
I am here to support and encourage your child's love of reading and literacy through the different resources offered in our school library! The possibilities are endless! We’re in this together, let’s have fun!
