Assistant Director of Financial Services is Employee of the Month 

Greensboro, N.C. – Crunching numbers for the third largest school district in North Carolina is no easy task. In Guilford County Schools, our Finance Department ensures that our bills are paid, staff receive paychecks and that our routine operations can continue without hiccups.  

When problems or questions do arise, it is vital to know the right person to go to for answers or help. In the Finance Department, that person is often none other than Shelly Hodges. As Assistant Director of Financial Services, she leads with passion and care.  

“I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for Shelly Hodges in the GCS Finance Department. Her help has made such a difference, and I can’t thank her enough for the patience, professionalism, and genuine care she brings to everything she does,” writes Mark Miller, Director of Maintenance. “Shelly consistently goes above and beyond to make sure things are handled accurately and efficiently. Whether it's answering questions, resolving issues, or simply being a reassuring presence in a sometimes stressful process, she always shows up with a positive attitude and a willingness to help. She's the kind of person who not only gets the job done but also makes you feel supported along the way. For all these reasons and more, I truly believe Shelly deserves to be recognized as Employee of the Month. She’s an asset to GCS and to everyone who’s lucky enough to work with her.” 

With a glowing nomination, Shelly Hodges earned the title of Employee of the Month for June. She was surprised with the news with fellow members of her team and cheers.  

Hodges received a $50 gift card courtesy of the Greensboro Jaycees. During the month of June, her photo will be displayed at the district’s central offices and in the Greensboro Jaycees office.
