Student Supports

After School Tutoring-Throughout the year, students are offered tutoring to support individual needs of students.

MTSS & Academic Intervention – Student progress is monitored regularly, with targeted small-group reading and math support provided based on individual needs.

Exceptional Children (EC) Services – Specialized instruction and accommodations are provided for students with disabilities according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Social-Emotional & Behavioral Support – PAWS expectations, restorative practices, reflection opportunities, mentoring, Zones of Regulation, and other supports help students develop self-regulation and positive decision-making skills.

School-Based Support Team – Teachers, administrators, counselors/support staff, specialists, and families work collaboratively to identify student needs and develop appropriate academic, attendance, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.

Academics

CKLA & UFLI Literacy Instruction – Research-based reading instruction that builds phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and knowledge.
WIN (What I Need) Time – Dedicated literacy and math intervention/enrichment blocks that provide targeted small-group instruction based on student data.
MTSS & Small-Group Support – Regular progress monitoring and differentiated instruction to provide additional academic support when students need it.
AIG & Enrichment Opportunities – Advanced learning experiences for academically gifted students, along with STEM, problem-solving, and enrichment opportunities.
College & Career Readiness – Career exploration, student goal setting, data notebooks, and student-led conferences help students understand their strengths, monitor their progress, and begin thinking about their futures.
After School Tutoring-Throughout the year, students are offered tutoring to support individual needs of students.

Clubs

After School STEM Club – Hands-on STEM learning, problem-solving, career exploration, and engaging experiences with community partners. The school’s STEM Club has also been highlighted publicly for helping students connect STEM learning with future careers.
After School Garden Club – Students learn about gardening, nature, responsibility, and caring for their school environment.
ACES After-School Program – Jamestown’s on-site after-school program provides academic, enrichment, recreational, and character-building activities until 6:00 p.m. on regular school days.
